I might need to fasten the latches a bit tighter so not fully convinced that this is an “issue” at this point. But, I do get a sense of sloppy now and then. I go for larger toe-box capacity as a rule, and this certainly has it. Now, there is a bit of movement in the toe-box. That squish was not what I expected after reading reviews and studying the stats. When shoes arrive, I immediately put one on without lacing up and walk down the hall to get the initial feel.ĭoing so, the fit was snug enough even not laced, and there was a concerning squish I noted immediately (we’ll get to that). Saucony hits all the right spots with this one! Welcome to my fam! They have a higher stack height than comparables, and it is very much present through the response but not on the drag of weight.

They fall on the every-so-slight heavier side, but you will only know this by looking at stats and not by the use. I stepped outside the New Balance family and went with the strange blood of another shoe line *Gasp*. I was looking for something in between and found it with the Kinvaras. Initially, I jumped from too much to too little in trying racers during that little time of the minimalist push. I graduated not so far back from the highly-constructed, weighty trainers with heavy everything. The Saucony Kinvara 11 is one of my primary workhorses that gives an excellent fit, just enough cushion and light enough to not drag down the higher mileage runs. Of course, this can also be due to the change in outside temperatures at the moment.Saucony was not my first love, nor my second, but it certainly is my latest. With the Kinvara 11 I still sometimes have the feeling that it is tied too tight or too loose. With almost all new shoes the ideal pressure can be found on the first run. Interestingly enough, I have a little criticism regarding the lacing. So if the extra weight is in the cushioning, that was a good investment. Pwrrun gives me a little more comfort and at the same time a little more bounce – while still giving me a very good running feeling. Although the difference is rather minimal, it is still noticeable. It is also possible to have both at the same time.Īlthough I could hardly imagine it, the new Pwrrun cushioning is one of the improvements. With every new version of my favourite shoe, of course, the question arises whether anything could be improved at all, or whether there is even deterioration. Whether this makes a noticeable difference remains to be seen when running. But the most important thing is: the heel offers a good hold and is quite comfortably padded for a shoe in this weight class.Īt 542 grams, the Kinvara 11 is a real lightweight – but at the same time 5% heavier than its predecessor. The heel… I’m not quite sure what the purpose of all this stitching is. On the contrary: it simply saves weight.Īlso the lacing is only slightly changed: the upper holes have been given a “special” reinforcement, while the other pairs of holes are only slightly reinforced. This has basically been the case since the Kinvara 6 and is not a problem. Otherwise, the Pwrrun cushioning has direct contact with the ground. The “outsole” still consists of only two reinforced areas at the heel and the big toe. But from the outside, you can’t see any difference. The new model has a Pwrrun sole and a Pwrrun+ top sole. The last one was Everrun, which was used as top sole in the Kinvara 10. First and foremost, of course, there is the new cushioning. But there have been some changes in details. Otherwise, the new model is a pretty typical Kinvara – I think. It’s a running shoe, not a fashion statement. But embossed leather applications? This “baroque” heel? And did the cushioning have to be painted as well? Okay, fine. Saucony, we have to talk… Who comes up with these design ideas?! I can certainly live with the colours.
